Aspects of modelling desirability indices

Standard way:
Before optimsation estimate individual models $\hat{f_i}$ .

Hope:
To be able to model the Desirability Index directly, without modelling the individual f_i.
If possible, the computational overhead will be drastically reduced.
Even a dimension reduction in factor space?

But:
For both types of desirability functions this is not possible.
